David Mcmenomy sits down and discusses his time as an artist in the Twin Cities and his work on Cromulent Shakespeare Co.’s Hamlet.

00:00-05:08: David discusses his education and move to Minnesota to pursue his career in acting, about the shows he’s worked in that time, and his penchant for Renaissance and theatre history.

05:08-09:53: We move onto talking about David’s involvement with the Cromulent Shakespeare Co., his audition, and the prep work for the role of Hamlet.

09:53-13:47: The tragic flaw of Hamlet and David’s take on the character.

13:47-18:14: The cutting that went into the Cromulent’s production and in which we lament the loss of Fortinbras. We also get into how David is similar to Hamlet and vice-versa.

18:14-21:21: We talk briefly on the motivations of Claudius and the pull of Gertrude and power before we talk about the cast and finish up the podcast.

Hamlet runs from March 12-28 at the Cedar Riverside People’s Center in Minneapolis.
