00:00-07:18: There’s some chuckling over podcast “traditions” before we get into talking about Jimmy, Courtney, Marcia and their work as artists.

07:18-11:00: We move into talking about Urban Samurai’s production of Bright Ideas, the plot, and Marcia’s take on her character’s path.

11:00-12:49: We discuss the obsession with getting into the perfect preschool and setting your child on the proper path.

12:49-15:17: The centerpiece of the play, the dinner party, and the difficulty of its staging.

15:17-19:16: We discuss rehearsals and the solidification of the production, and Courtney speaks to playing many smaller roles and differentiating them from one another.

19:16-22:01: We move into the similarities between Bright Ideas and the Scottish Play and finish out the podcast.

Bright Ideas runs May 7 – 23 at the Sabes JCC.
