In the first of the 2010 Fringecasts, Phil Gonzales and Mark Sweeney wax robotic on their upcoming fringe show, ROBO-homa! A Territory Tale with a Technological Twist.

00:00-06:15: Phil and Mark talk about ROBO-homa‘s backstage beginnings and its intrinsic connection to Oklahoma!, and the desire to keep ROBO-homa as close to a sci-fi musical as possible.

06:15-09:37: We talk more on the story and the need to acknowledge its Oklahoma! origins.

09:37-12:57: Our discussion turns to establishing movement for the robots so their “internal life” is expressed.

ROBO-homa plays as part of the Fringe Festival at the U of Minnesota Rarig Center Proscenium. It runs August 6th, 7th, 9th, 13th, and 14th, and make sure to check out their show page for more information.
