By Joshua Humphrey

It’s been a year since Paul von Stoetzel first appeared on TCTC podcast, and this time he brings along Katherine Kupiecki and Marcus Anthony to discuss their upcoming fringe show, Medea Ex Machina.

00:00-06:26: We discuss the parallels and uniqueness of this Medea story and the subtle and not-so-subtle manipulation that’s occurring behind-the-scenes.

06:26-11:45: I reference a quote from Bette Davis that is thematically resonant with the production and ask Katherine her opinion. We also discuss directing and playing inexperience on the stage.

11:45-13:50: In-jokes, fringe, and writing for your audience.

13:50-15:22: We finish out the fringecast by praising the Rarig Xperimental as a venue for actor-driven pieces.

Medea Ex Machina runs as part of the Minnesota Fringe Festival on August 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th, and 14th at the U of Minnesota Rarig Xperimental Theatre.
