Les Kurkendaal, frequent Minnesota Fringe performer, returns to share his new show, A One-way Ticket to Crazy Town!
Les has been in 9 of 19 Minnesota Fringes! Does anyone have a higher score than that? If so, they need a prize. This is the first year I’ve really felt that I have an ongoing history with the festival–this is my fourth, so I can only imagine what fringe veteran Les feels coming into the festival. This is a legitimate question I should have asked him, but I missed out.
A One-way Ticket to Crazy Town! is about Les’ mother’s dementia, but Les is taking this heavy topic and spinning it into lighter stories framed in a manner reminiscent of Scheherazade in Arabian Nights. He’s testing it out here at the Minnesota Fringe Festival before taking it into the wider fringey world, an opportunity I’ll be taking by giving him my eyeballs.
A One-way Ticket to Crazy Town! runs August 2, 7, 8, 10, and 11 at Patrick’s Cabaret.
