Analog–Fringe 2013

Analog.

Analog.

Katharine Hawthorne describes bringing her explosive dance show Analog from San Francisco to the Minnesota Fringe.

We don’t spend enough time on the show talking about dance during the greater part of the Minnesota arts season, but the Fringe gives us a chance to rectify that injustice. It’s also a time to get a taste for the form; I’ve seen as dance artists like Casebolt and Smith, Tamara Ober, and Sara Scrimshaw for the first time during the Fringe, and now these are artists I trust and watch for during the regular season.

Analog runs August 3, 5, 7, 8, and 9 at the Southern Theater. You can also attend the event Meet the Dancers! and Move with Us! workshop during the opening weekend of the Fringe!

Jena Young–Fringe 2013

Confessions of a Welfare Queen.

Memoirs of a Welfare Queen.

Jena Young fills us in on her many Minnesota Fringe involvements–as a solo artist, a performer, and much, much more.

Jena does improv, performs with Vilification Tennis, and co-hosts Apropos of Nothing Podcast! She is busy! I mean, look at this:

I can barely keep one show straight, let alone performing, assisting, writing, choreographing, and mentoring. She is a fringing goddess.
